Neousys Nuvo-11000 Series – Maximum Performance for High-End Industrial, Vision, and Edge AI Applications

With the Nuvo-11000 Series, Neousys introduces the most powerful generation of its renowned Nuvo product line. The series has been consistently designed for compute-intensive industrial, machine vision, and edge AI applications where conventional embedded systems reach their limits. Compared to the established Nuvo-7000 and Nuvo-9000 series, the Nuvo-11000 Series marks a significant technological leap in CPU performance, memory bandwidth, expandability, and future-proofing.

At the heart of the Nuvo-11000 Series are 14th, 13th, and 12th Generation Intel® Coreâ„¢ Processors (Raptor Lake / Alder Lake), up to powerful Core i9 variants. With up to 24 cores (Performance and Efficiency Cores) and high single-thread performance, the platform is ideal for complex computing tasks, parallel data processing, real-time image analysis, and AI inference directly at the edge. In direct comparison to the Nuvo-7000 Series, based on 7th and 8th Gen Intel Core, and the Nuvo-9000 Series with 9th to 11th Gen, the Nuvo-11000 Series offers a significant boost in computing power and efficiency.

Another key advancement is the support for DDR5 memory. The Nuvo-11000 systems can be equipped with up to 128 GB DDR5 RAM, benefiting from significantly higher memory bandwidth and better scalability. Especially for data-intensive applications such as multi-camera machine vision, AI models, or large data buffers, this represents a clear advantage over the Nuvo-9000 Series with DDR4 RAM, and even more so over the Nuvo-7000 Series, which was considerably more limited.

Nuvo-11000 series
  • Supports Intel® Coreâ„¢ Ultra 200 Series 24C/ 24T 35W/ 65W LGA1851 CPU
  • Rugged, -25°C to 70°C fanless operation
  • Up to 5x 2.5GbE and 1x GigE ports with optional PoE+, supporting 9.5 KB jumbo frame
  • Up to 8x USB 3.2 Gen2 ports
  • 4-channel isolated digital inputs (DI) and 4-channel isolated digital outputs (DO)
  • 1x optional 10GBASE-T Ethernet port
  • Expansion cassette for PCIe add-on card accommodation
  • MezIO® interface for easy function expansion

The Nuvo-11000 Series also sets new standards in expandability. Multiple PCIe slots (including PCIe Gen4) enable the use of powerful add-on cards, such as frame grabbers, high-speed network adapters, NVMe expansions, or dedicated AI accelerators. While the Nuvo-7000 Series was primarily designed for classic PCIe Gen3 architectures and the Nuvo-9000 Series represented an intermediate step, the Nuvo-11000 Series is clearly oriented toward modern high-performance peripherals.

Particular emphasis is placed on GPU and accelerator support. The Nuvo-11000 Series provides sufficient power budget, mechanical space, and thermal design to integrate powerful GPUs or AI accelerator cards. This makes it excellently suited for demanding vision systems, deep learning inference, video analytics, or data-intensive edge AI applications. In this area, the gap to the Nuvo-7000 Series is particularly significant, as it was not originally designed for such high GPU loads. Compared to the Nuvo-9000 Series, the new platform also offers more reserves and flexibility.

In terms of connectivity, the Nuvo-11000 Series demonstrates its industrial orientation. Multiple Gigabit Ethernet ports, optionally with PoE+, enable direct connection of cameras, sensors, and distributed system components. Additionally, numerous USB 3.x ports, serial interfaces, and digital I/O options are available for automation and control tasks. While these features were already well-developed in the Nuvo-9000 Series, the Nuvo-11000 Series offers higher port density and more modern controller technology, positively impacting data rates and system stability.

Despite the significantly increased performance, Neousys stays true to its proven fanless industrial design. The Nuvo-11000 Series features a massively built metal enclosure with optimized heat dissipation and is designed for reliable continuous operation in harsh environments. An extended operating temperature range, high vibration and shock resistance, and industrial long-term availability make the systems particularly attractive for demanding deployment sites — from manufacturing floors to transportation and infrastructure applications to mobile platforms. Compared to the Nuvo-7000 Series, the thermal design has been significantly improved to safely passively cool even modern high-performance CPUs.

Looking at the evolution of Nuvo platforms overall, the Nuvo-11000 Series can be clearly positioned as a high-end platform. The Nuvo-7000 Series served for years as a robust and versatile solution for classic industrial and vision applications. The Nuvo-9000 Series brought a first significant performance increase and better expandability. The Nuvo-11000 Series, however, is consistently aimed at current and future requirements — especially where high CPU performance, large memory capacities, modern PCIe technology, and AI capabilities are demanded.
