Neousys POC-915 – Neue Maßstäbe für kompakte, lüfterlose Industrie- und Edge-Computer
At the core of the system operates an AMD Ryzenâ„¢ PRO Embedded Processor of the latest generation. With up to six CPU cores and twelve threads, the POC-915 offers significantly increased computing power compared to previous POC models. At the same time, the modern AMD architecture ensures excellent energy efficiency, enabling fully fanless operation even under sustained high load. The integrated AMD Radeon graphics unit delivers sufficient performance for multi-display applications, visualization, image processing, and initial AI inference tasks directly at the edge.
A key technological advancement over predecessor models is the use of DDR5 memory. The POC-915 supports up to 32 GB DDR5 RAM, offering not only more bandwidth but also better future-proofing for memory-intensive applications. Especially with parallel processes, real-time data processing, or image analysis, there is a clear performance advantage over older POC systems that were still based on DDR4 memory.
The POC-915 also sets new standards in connectivity. Particularly noteworthy are the four integrated Gigabit Ethernet ports with PoE+ support. This allows cameras, sensors, or other peripheral devices to be powered directly via the network cable — a decisive advantage for compact installations and clean control cabinet layouts. Compared to earlier models with fewer PoE ports or external injectors, the POC-915 significantly reduces cabling effort and increases system reliability.
For connecting additional devices, numerous modern interfaces are available. Multiple USB 3.2 ports enable fast data transfer for cameras, storage, or measuring instruments, while two HDMI outputs allow parallel operation of high-resolution displays up to 4K. Additionally, the POC-915 features serial interfaces that can be flexibly configured as RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485 — an important feature for industrial use, where serial communication remains widespread. The I/O concept is complemented by isolated digital inputs and outputs that enable secure connection of control and automation signals.
In terms of data storage, the POC-915 relies on an M.2 NVMe slot with PCIe Gen4 connectivity. This enables very high read and write speeds, which is particularly advantageous for data-intensive applications such as image processing, logging, or local AI models. Additionally, the system offers expansion options via Mini PCIe slots and the Neousys-typical MezIO port, through which customer-specific I/O modules can be integrated. This modularity clearly distinguishes the POC-915 from simpler embedded systems and makes it particularly attractive for OEM projects.
Like all systems in the POC series, the POC-915 has been consistently designed for industrial continuous operation. The robust metal enclosure, fully fanless design, and support for an extended operating temperature range of -25°C to +70°C enable deployment in harsh environments. Compared to older generations, vibration and shock resistance have been further improved, so the POC-915 works reliably even in mobile applications or near machinery.
Comparing the POC-915 with previous POC models reveals a significant technological leap overall. In addition to increased CPU and graphics performance, users benefit from modern memory and interface technology, higher integration density, and better scalability. While earlier POC systems primarily covered classic control and visualization tasks, the POC-915 is clearly aimed at current and future requirements such as edge computing, AI-powered analysis, and connected industrial architectures.
