The Xeon 5600 series has features such as SSE 4.2, Intel Virtualisation Technology (Vanderpool), demand-based switching as well as the QPI interface and a triple-channel memory controller. The Xeon processor E5620 with four cores, equipped with 12 MB L3 cache, can process up to 8 applications simultaneously thanks to HyperThreading and supports DDR3 memory up to 1066 MHz.
