The Intel Core-i series refers to a family of x86 microprocessors with 64-bit expansion. It is the further development of the Intel Core 2 processors. Intel divides the family into the classes "Intel Core i3", "Intel Core i5" and "Intel Core i7". The model numbers show the generation of the respective processor. Intel Core i of the first generation are e.g. Intel Core i5-520M and Intel Core i7-620M. The 2nd and 3rd generations have the corresponding generation number before the model number. For example, Intel Core i5-2xxx are 2nd generation series or Intel Core i7-3xxx are 3rd generation series.

The Intel Core i processors are based on the Nehalem microarchitecture, as well as Sandy Bridge since 2011 and Ivy Bridge since 2012.
