Product information "Intel Core i5-4430 - SR14G - 3.1 GHz Quad Core"

SR14G Specifications, general information :
Type CPU
Microprocessor family Intel Core i5
Processor number i5-4430
Part number CM8064601464802 BX80646I54430 BXC80646I54430
Frequency (GHz) 3 Maximum Turbo Frequency (GHz) Clock.
Socket type LGA 1150

The Intel Core i5-4430 is a quad-core desktop processor based on the Haswell architecture that was introduced in June 2013.
Manufactured in a 22-nanometre process, the CPU clocks at 3.0 to 3.2 GHz and does not offer hyper-threading (therefore only 4 threads in parallel).
Architecture

Haswell is the successor to the Ivy Bridge architecture, which was introduced in 2012, and is intended to score above all with higher performance and improved energy efficiency. Jump prediction has been optimised and the number of execution units has been increased, which promises significant performance gains, especially when using Hyper-Threading (if supported). New instruction set extensions such as AVX2 and FMA should further improve performance in applications designed for them.

Performance
The performance of the i5-4430 is just on the level of an Ivy Bridge-based Core i5-3470 with slightly higher clock speeds. This corresponds roughly to the level of the notebook model Core i5-6300HQ of the Skylake generation. Overall, the i5-4430 has sufficient performance reserves for all everyday applications, current games and (moderate) multitasking.

Graphics unit

The Intel HD Graphics 4600 integrated in the processor, which clocks at 350 - 1100 MHz, is responsible for graphics output. The performance advantage over the HD Graphics 4000 is around 30 percent, but the performance in games of 2015 is at best sufficient for minimal graphics settings.

Power consumption

Intel specifies a TDP of 84 watts, but it is hardly used in practice.
